Tena votes: Chris and Jessica

Unfortunately my own guy Chris. He never finished his moves and his arms show no control. He starts off strong and finishes weak. I think he has a conditioning problem. Did you see the way he was breathing so hard after the routine and never recovered his breath? They are all trained dancers, that shows a conditioning problem. Oh well, I think I am going to lose a person off my team.

Also I think that Will and Jessica were a hot mess. Chelsea and Thayne were horrific and she really overpowered Thayne. Their only redemption in my eyes was the fact that the choreography was really god awful, so totally not their fault. So the girl I think will go home is Jessica.

Now on to the best of the night. Courtney and Gev. That was hot!!!!! Girlfriend was working that dress! I love her passion and her performance face.

Hey what is up with all the bad choreography. This is the worst season ever for choreographers, they are all so horrible!

Scott and Vanessa vote: Chris and Chelsea

Our team:

Courtney. Ok, let's get this out right away. HOLY HOT AMAZING SEXY WOW WOW WOW DRESS!!! Oh my. Wow. Other girls have worn stuff like that, but man, she really sold it. Just... wow. Anyway, both of them were great, but who the hell was watching Gev?

Katee. And speaking of other girls that wear dresses like Courtney's... here's Katee! For being shy, she actually looked pretty comfortable in it. We just would really have liked to have have Joshua wear something a little more fancy to match... or at least not clash. We didn't like this routine as much as the judges did, but it was still solid. Although the beginning was ON, up until the walks forward.

Chelsea. Sad to say it, but the best part of Thayne and Chelsea's routine was the ending. Quickstep has been the deathblow to many a couple. But they definitely should have danced it better. All around stinker.

Other thoughts:

Will and Jessica's routine was alright... but the lifts/drops/aerials that were later in the routine were really rough for me... not so much the lifts themselves (except that deathdrop where she hit her side pretty hard), but the entrances and exits were like, "and now we are doing this aerial... and now we are done doing this aerial..." How about dancing in and out of them?

We miss Shane Sparks! Sometimes Napoleon and Tabitha are good and sometimes they suck. When I first saw Twitch / Kherington's routine I thought: All this candy hip hop crap is driving me nuts. Shane did the same awesome stories but it was always hot AND it was like BET... this isn't even MTV... it's like VH1... UGH!

Then when I saw Mark / Chelsie's routine I thought: Holy shit I got chills all the way through it. They were both so SICK! Chelsie's solo moment was so so awesome and emotional - and Mark was totally in character... all the way down to that little moment at the end when they look at each other and Mark looks down, knowing that they just fought and he is going off to work and leaving her but that isn't even what he really wants. Just wow. How is it that Tabitha and Napoleon choreograph one awesome routine and one shit routine every week? Maybe they just shouldn't try to do anything that would be played on BET (i.e. the first routine to Busta Rhymes) and stick to to VH1 stuff (like Leona Lewis, the second routine).

Mikey votes: Thanye and Comfort

[notes coming...]

Seth and Melinda vote: Chris and Jessica

Twitch and Kherington: We feel like they did ok, but we really hated the choreography. That isn't their fault, but I don't feel like they are at the top of my list like they were. We think a lot is riding on their popularity, but they are great dancers.

Courtney and Gev: We think that was such a hot routine. To be honest, nervousness was our first emotion, but they killed it. They have great chemistry and we are so glad they survived that sucky disco from 2 weeks ago. Um, and Courtney looked hot. Seriously.

Comfort and Chris: What. The. Hell. Although we have no problem with the music choice, I think some people may be turned off by it. And that was the least of the issues. It just felt flat and weird. I think Comfort did better than Chris and I think we may be saying goodbye to him this week. Comfort is just sick on her solos, so we think she'll stay.

Jessica and Will: Really, the disco just needs to be shelved for this show. Permanently. Will is great and I think that showed through this routine. He of course, has outstanding lines and always does an amazing job. Jessica needs to go. We think this is her week. Her dancing makes us feel uncomfortable.

Kourtni and Matt: We've been skeptical of Matt and his mega pointy toes. We like Kourtni but haven't loved her. This week, the choreography was amazing and they did amazing. Kourtni didn't look so clunky this week, and they had tons of personality. And I loved her leggings (this is obviously not Seth writing this week).

Chelsea T and Thayne: This was horrible. I think some of that wasn't completely their fault...we didn't like the choreography at all and the song made me want to pull my eyes out. It made us sad, because they both have huge potential. And let's face it, along with the disco, the quickstep is the kiss of death.

Chelsea H and Mark: Our very favorite couple. They've delivered every week. Her sweetness combined with his quirkiness makes for an amazing coupling and chemistry. The hip hop hasn't been as killer as Shane Sparks, but this was perfect. We think they have great potential to be in the top 4. Yay!

Katee and Joshua: As much as we don't really like Katee, they did great on this. Joshua is wonderful. We wonder what will happen if and when they get separated. Not sure how long Katee will hang on her own. They are great together and I felt like cuddling with him. Or something.

Our top couples this week: Court and Gev, Kourtni and Matt, Chelsea H and Mark, and Katee and Joshua. Go home, Jessica and Chris!

Jenna votes: Chris and Comfort

I love the new judge. He's got some really great insight and I thought he was giving the dancers some excellent feedback. I would like to keep him.

This is the first week I have enjoyed anything that Tabitha and Napoleon have done. The prison break routine was awesome. I loved it. What a great routine for Kherington and Twitch to do. I actually liked "Bleeding Love" routine too, which I thought I would hate. Chelsie and Mark were incredible in that routine. They were smooth, and sharp when they needed to be, and passionate and that was a pleasure to see. If that passion were any less, I think I would have hated it because "lyrical hip hop" doesn't work for me. They definitely proved me wrong and that it can work but is difficult to pull off.

I loved the Kourtni and Matt contemporary routine this week. How fun. Everything from the lines to the play fighting and the tie biting was great. It made me want to be in their comic book. It was also nice to see a routine that really fit Matt's quirky personality. Awesome.

The bottom three couples I think are obvious this week: 1) Chelsea and Thayne. Seriously, that looked AWFUL. The only thing I liked about that routine was her dress. And he annoys me. I want him to go away just because I am annoyed. 2) Comfort and Chris. A solid effort but honestly, my roommate's kitten has more fire in it that Chris did and Comfort could have done better. She's annoying too. And 3) Jessica and Will. Too many mistakes - and even the parts they did right are going to have to go beyond doing them right to keep up with everyone else.

Scott, this one's for you: I loved Cat's dress and shoes!!

Todd and Ronni vote: Chris and Chelsea

Bottom 3 couples:
Chris & Comfort - Chris is still a freakin' tree. At least Comfort will be able to dance for her life and get a better partner.
Thayne & Chelsea - They got the shaft by drawing the quickstep, yeah yeah, but they should have stepped it up. Haha, we are so punny.
Matt & Kourtni - We still hate Matt and his pointy toes. Talk about trees, he's a Weeping Willow.

We love love love Tabitha and Napoleon and their "lyrical hip hop" or
whatever they are calling it. They are our favorite choreographers of
all time!

Episode 2 votes!

Tena votes: Marquis and Susie

Marquis and Susie. Hated it. Marquis was all over the place and his technique was painful to watch. Please can we get rid of that chick Susie? She uhh.....sucks. I never thought this girl should have been in the top twenty. I want her to go HOME! They did do a killer lift though. But my picks to go home are Marquis and Susie.

I really enjoyed Twitch's and Kherington's routine. Mia was smoking crack for criticizing her. Thayne and Chelsea were pretty bad tonight, worst of the bunch. But I don't think they will be voted out.

Scott and Vanessa vote: Matt and Susie

Ok, Susie is an obvious choice! She and Marquis should land in the bottom 3 and there is no way she is dancing for her life... seriously. She fell out of those basic turns at the beginning of their routine and it just went downhill from there. We struggled with Marquis VS Matt, but ultimately went with Matt because he and Kourtni will likely land in the bottom 3 and he is clunky, doesn't know how to use his arms, kicks and steps weird, and doesn't have a personality.

As for our team? Get. It. Katee. She and Joshua looked great yet again. Courtney also stepped it up... she was a beast in that routine. Then there was Chelsea... That routine was a complete disaster. We couldn't believe it when they complemented the horrendous choreography. And who in wardrobe thought it was a good idea to dressing her up like a clown... she's hot - don't put her in a stupid clown outfit with a some kind of diaper bottoms. Whatever the case, she didn't kill it and she'll need to step up if she wants to compete against Kherington / Katee / Chelsie H, because we know Thayne isn't going to pull her up.

Mikey votes: Thayne and Chelsea

Chelsea & Thayne: their routine was ok but there was really nothing there at all. it was void of emotion or it was like watching someone else try to express an emotion that they were told to feel. but done not well at all.

Joshua and Katee: are the the ones to beat right now. Joshua is did amazing last night in the Broadway routine. he really shows his versatility. but we'll have to see how he does in a partner dance like ballroom or latin numbers. Katee is amazing and i feel as though we haven't even begun to see what she is all about and what she is capable to do.

Susie & Marquise: have a strong partnership but i feel they were dealt a huge blow to there confidence by the comment of the salsa teacher dude. which was not needed at all. but susie really did try, almost sad to say, she tried too hard. she over thought every single one of her movements and the dance was at lack of fire & passion. Marquise's weak point is his partner skills in the more traditional partnered dances. they can both move and extend and really make things happen. so if they make it this week, they will need a contemporary, jazz, or lyrical routine to make them shine and stay in there...

Chris and Comfort: Krump, well it just wasn't KRUMP! so ya... but i think its hard to make a routine for krump. it is a raw and spontaneous dance where 90% of it is made up on the spot and then taken to a whole another level! they played it way safe.

Gev & Courtney: i think they really hit something new this week. Gev really showed his potential but need some direction to help bring it out. the beginning of the routine was great for him, it was masculine and then he slowly lost it thru out the routine. but all of the lifts and carries thru out the piece were amazing but Courtney does need to help him out more. maybe if she can bring that dormant piece out of Gev then they will do amazing things. Courtney's emotion was there and it was powerful but like i said she needs to let Gev show that as well. I put them in the bottom last week but I'm glad they stayed...

Will & Jessica: Will is amazing and has a strong work ethic and it is visible in every kind of movement he makes. and it doesn't lose any of the passion and emotion. with him it really looks like every movement he makes has a purpose and commits to it. and i believe it. Jessica has good movement but i feel like something is holding her back. she has sex appeal and she is beautiful, but, i don't think she can express that or maybe the show is getting to her and she is unable to move the way she really wants to. Will needs to help her and make sure to give her a safe haven to let her grow and move to another level in her dancing and her life. cuz you really cant have growth in dance and expect not to grow as a person... it all fits together and we are the only ones who can make our life grow to a point others can see it and feel it.

Matt & Kourtni: they were on the same page this week. emotionally and story-wise as well. they had a great, fun dance that had a lot of room for the them to play with and i think they did. Kourtni's arm extension, when she was connected to matt, were not great they didn't match his and weren't elegant. and Matt has a problem with his legs. a lot of the time if you notice on his last 2 pieces, his leg snaps a lot, i dare say too much, from the knee down. it dosent look right to me. but over all they are great dancers and are great match for each other. i expect more from them both though...

Mark & Chelsie: i think they are an underdog that no one quite pays attention to. they had a strong piece last week and followed it up again with another strong attempt at the Argentine Tango. and they fit it to a T! Mark was the ultra macho man with a heart for romance, like every latin man may i add! Chelsie is beautiful and really went for the "look what i can do to you" mentality that woman take when doing this dance. their connection was amazing and execution was flawless! i expect to see them both do very well and i cannot wait to watch there personal growth on this show!

Twitch & Kherington: wow Twitch is really breaking it down! he really excelled a great deal with this routine. i think the added emotional value of having this piece done for a greater purpose and reason really helped both of these dancer hit a new high. He portrayed a strong, supportive and loving man that would carry his love thru anything. that was shown when he held Kherington in his arms like a small child and danced the waltz pattern. this spoke volumes, almost as he was saying that "dont worry" and he will dance for them both. Kherington really does have it all, beauty, technique and grace. but she really does lack only one thing and that is life experience. as a dancer, or artist for that matter, you have to be able to draw from
life experiences to help you create a moment and express it to the masses. were those be good, bad, beauty or ugliness, you have them to take from and use them to make your dance all that more real. but both really are amazing dancers that i hope will come to blow our minds on the show!

Seth and Melinda vote: Marquis and Susie

Please for the love of all that is holy take Susie away! She is a phony and I don't even know how or why she ever made it to Vegas or further. They keep saying she is Sexy... but she isn't. Marquis just gets drug down with the filth, but he is also forgettable. His Salsa was terrible terrible as well.

Our team: Chelsie H. - Killed It. Sexy and Hot. Plus you are a part of a great dynamic partnership. Thayne - You were a slight disappointment this week my friend. That aside from the fact that you had to do a rather shitty choreography in shitty costuming. Gev. - You stepped it up a bit this week. Props to the B-Boy.

Let me just say that overall I was pretty disappointed this week. Not so much with the dancers, but with the routines and the choreography. I find myself being less entertained this Season so far. I don't care a lick for the Hip Hop. Maybe once they filter out the dancers that just need to go (I have 5 on my list) then we will really see some good stuff, although without Sparks I just don't know...

Jenna votes: Thayne and Susie

I really liked: Chelsie H and Mark, Twitchington, Courtney and Gev, and of course Joshua and Katee. I agreed with the judges about Chelsie's Tango in that in was technically excellent but didn't showcase enough passion. I was absolutely amazed by some of her footwork in that number. Courtney and Gev's performance was my favorite of the night. It was so nice to see Gev really step up in that routine. It was also danced that number with such masculinity and that was a pleasure to see. Frankly, I'm not sure the male contemporary dancers on the show could have have that quite as well. Kherington and Twitch did an amazing job as well and I feel like the judges are on crack for saying that she smiled to much during that piece. And Joshua and Katee managed to take a style that I hate and make me love what they've done with it. Awesome.

As for those I didn't like: Susie. I think she's awful. And as for the routines: Obviously, I hated the salsa routine. I was also disappointed with the number that Chris and Comfort did. I expected more from Comfort and I also thought Chris was a little soft.

To be honest, I have not been a fan of any of the hip hop on the show so far. I miss Shane Sparks (he's doing an opening routine for the results show and I can't wait!!). It seems like there is a certain rawness that either the choreographers have been neglecting or the dancers have not been able to capture. At this point, I'd even take a Dan Karaty routine over the stuff we've seen so far. The contemporary stuff, however, is amazing. Wow.

Yay! Shane Sparks!

Todd and Ronni vote: Chris and Kourtni

Chris - because the judges hate him and made it very clear to America. We could hear them subliminally chanting: "vote Chris off, vote Chris off, vote Chris off".

Kourtni - something about her aesthetic we don't like, plus she was in the bottom last week and we think America already dislikes her, so they will put here there again.

Our bottom 3 couples would be:

Chris and Comfort - Although we want Comfort to stay; white boy can't hang with the krump. We didn't think the choreography was very representative of krumping, but T said it might have been because Chris couldn't get it.

Marquis and Susie - Again, we want Susie to stay, and she could have rocked out some salsa, but she had to backlead herself through the entire performance because Marquis didn't lead a damn thing. Grrrrrrr. You could tell she wanted to say something about it to the judges, poor girl. At least Nigel noticed. I actually wanted Marquis as one to get voted off, but Todd thinks the judges will get everyone to vote off "The Tree" instead.

Matt and Kourtni - Eh, they can both go. Matt points his toes all the freakin' time, even in hard soled shoes (how does he do that?!!!) and she wobbles a lot. Neither of them complete their movements, never hit anything sharp. Just like one of the judges said, they don't know how to use their lankiness to their advantage and just look sloppy.

Who we think will be the final four and would have picked if others didn't beat us to it:

William (who we did grab and would like to point out that Mia said was a genius)
Joshua (has secret weapons like training in gymnastics and ballet. what else is he hiding?)
Katee (never seen a girl hit so hard who wasn't a popper. we love her dynamic)
Chelsie H. (she's not perfect, but the judges, and America, looooove heeeer)

Episode 1 votes!

Tena votes: Jamie and Jessica

My vote offs for the week are Jamie and Jessica. Jamie looked like a piece of white toast out there and was blah, blah, blah. Jessica couldn't keep her feet under her and I thought she looked extremely klunky.

The couple to watch and who I think will be the crowd favorites are Twitch and Kherington. I thought they got a bad piece of choreo and worked what their mama gave them. Kherington is gorgeous and a beautiful dancer and Twitch has the heart of gold that will endear him to the audience. I don't expect these two to get voted off for a very long time. Go TWITCHINGTON!

Scott and Vanessa vote: Matt and Kourtni

We think Matt and Kourtni are going home this week. Didn't like their choreography... didn't think they danced it well. They will likely be in the bottom 3 couples. The question will be: can they dance for their lives. We think no, but we shall see. :)

We also think either Gev and Courtney, Jamie and Rayven, or Chris and Comfort will be in the bottom 3. Matt might be safe against Jamie or Chris... and Kourtni might be safe against Rayven... but we still think Matt and Kourtni are most likely to go home.

Mikey votes: Gev and Comfort

Gev was alright but didnt show america his fullest potential and didnt come across as a dancer but a person who can imitate and remember choreography.

Comfort, even though I think her fun / ge-hetto attitude will save her, I think that she wont get that many votes since she could show much versatility.

I liked Joshua & Katee! I mean come on she was out of her element and he was in it. together they made me cry for a piece that was full of emotion and well thought out. they're connection was all there; in the spirit and the forcefulness that Josh threw Katee into those air steps were amazing! i look forward to these 2 doing great things.

And Mark & Chelsie. i expect to see better from these 2. i saw the affect of the bright light and big stage this week but if they can get over that nervousness they will do great things.

Seth and Melinda vote: Rayven and Chris

The debate was long on this one. There were quite a few sucky dancers that we wanted to see go. Chris to us still had no personality and if he did, it was forced and awkward. We just didn't care at all for Rayven's dancing and since there were two Hip-Hop routines, one being far superior to the other, then the first would be forgotten pushing the first into the bottom. Then comparing Rayven to the others who she'd be dancing against, it seemed that she would be the likely candidate.

Jenna Stworzyjanek votes: Kourtni and Matt

Frankly, I didn't like any of these performances:

Rayven and Jamie
Kourtni and Matt
Courtney and Gev
Susie and Marquis

First, that "cotton candy hip hop" routine was awful and I blame everyone who was involved. Particularly for Jamie being pantsed. I miss Shane and Wade. Matt has no personality and I was not impressed by Gev. And the waltz was totally flubbed, I don't care what Nigel said. I think I just expecting too much early in the season. I mean they did just get started.

My first instinct was to go think that Gev and Courtney would be voted off first but I like Courtney and she may have saved them. So, I am going to go with Kourtni and Matt mostly because I have already forgotten what they look like.

By the way, is anyone else irritated by Cat Deely? If it wasn't for the crush Nigel has on her legs, I don't think she ever would have gotten the job.

I did really like the Mia Micheal's performance. I get the feeling that if you get her as a choreographer you want to work extra hard because you don't want to disappoint her and it totally showed. I also enjoyed the 2nd hip hop routine (well more than the first).

Ronni and Todd vote: Jamie and Courtney

Jamie was just too cheese ball and really couldn't hang with hip hop, especially after seeing Josh & Katee perform a hip hop routine by the same choreographers that gave us goosebumps. He took Rayven down with him. Courtney...ugh...worst split lift ever, could not hit a pose to save her life. Bleah. And Gev....ew...but Todd insists on Jamie.

The Auditions

----
From Seth
----
While I am impressed with the lineup and think that this year there are going to be a lot of strong competitors. I must say that I am a bit disappointed in the variety. It seems like they have a bevy of lyrical/jazz/classically trained dancers and 1 dancer of each sex from the "other" styles.

That being said, I will be hyper crazy in a few weeks when the routines start pouring in.

I also must say that I was completely blown away by the gall of some of the dancers. Crazy Bendy Alien pop-and-lock guy was insane, but chickens out even without trying, even when the judges are encouraging and supporting him.

Also, what the hell is up with the all the sassy backtalk? How on earth do people function in the professional dance world like that?

This year's top 20 -
12 Classically Trained (9 Contemporary Dancers and 3 Lyrical, Jazz, Ballet)
5 Hip Hop/Freestyle/Break Dancing
2 Latin
1 West Coast

Last Year -
9 Classically Trained
7 Hip Hop/Freestyle/Break Dancing
3 Latin (Includes Lacie who could be considered West Coast as well)
1 Ballroom
